Alba Berlin - Anadolu Efes Istanbul

Alba Berlin Anadolu Efes tip
Euroleague Top 16 Round 10 starts with a match up between Alba Berlin and Anadolu Efes playing in Berlin tonight. Anadolu Efes lost another road match up against Panathinaikos last week and their winning streak came to an end. Home side Alba Berlin mathematically lost any chance of qualification, so they are going to play prestige game against Anadolu Efes.

Last week, Anadolu Efes' winning streak ended with a nightmare. They not only lost a game after winning 7 games in a row, but were about to lose their double average clause against Panathinaikos. Luckily for Anadolu Efes, Panathinaikos couldn't execute the last possession so Anadolu Efes secured to be seeded on top of them in case of equality in winning percentages. Alba Berlin after playing two games on the road, they are going to play at home tonight. Alba Berlin lost its last two games in Madrid and Moscow.

As I wrote last week, Anadolu Efes' loss at some point was something quite probable to happen and it's in fact a good thing that occurred on the road when Anadolu Efes faced Panathinaikos in Athens. It's always been tough to play in Athens, so that defeat could be acceptable. However, facing Alba Berlin tonight is a must win match up; therefor, any mistake could cost a lot to Anadolu Efes.

The injury of Sasha Vujacic is still intact. He didn't travel with the team to Berlin, so he won't play tonight. Alba Berlin recently signed Ali Traore. He's the only player who didn't play in the first leg in Istanbul. Power forward Dusko Savanovic is in a terrific shape, probably the hottest hand within entire Anadolu Efes squad. Stanko Barac, off the bench, seemed to step up as well. Jordan Farmar was the biggest disappointment on the road in Athens, so he might regain confidence against Alba Berlin.

Of all 7 games within the winning streak, Anadolu Efes showed their worst performance against Alba Berlin about 2 months ago. Although, they didn't impress anyone at all, Anadolu Efes won the game 71-62, almost a double digit lead. Berlin, with the presence of a lot of Turkish inhabitants isn't a road at all for Anadolu Efes, so I don't expect them to have hard time tonight. Being undefeated kept them tense so far, but they should be more relaxed now as the streak came to an end. Aimless Alba Berlin team isn't supposed to trouble them a lot. I expect a comfortable Anadolu Efes victory by covering the spread as well.

Pick: Anadolu Efes -6.5 @ 1.90
Stake: 8/10
