Maccabi Electra - Fenerbahce Ulker

Maccabi Fenerbahce pick
The most disappointing Turkish side Fenerbahce Ulker is travelling to Tel Aviv to face Maccabi Electra in the third match day of Euroleague Top 16. Home side Maccabi Electra lost their previous match up with Caja Laboral due to an unsuccessful last offense where Maccabi Electro realized an amazing come back in the second half of the game. They couldn't collect the fruits of that come back last week, so they'll work hard to compensate that defeat against wounded Fenerbahce Ulker.

Fenerbahce Ulker has been undergoing a real chaos. Just 3 days ago, they allowed another 94 points against Anadolu Efes and surrenderred to a heavy defeat. Although the problems were quite obvious, they weren't spoken that loudly after the losses of Regal Barcelona and Montepaschi Siena. However, Anadolu Efes defeat brought some issues into a broad day light. Head coach Simone Pianigiani is accused of not counting on Turkish player properly. Bo McCalebb is said to have requested for a release from the team because he claims Emir Preldzic is declared ( or he possibly declared himself) as the new leader of the team instead of him. A couple of weeks ago, Mike Batiste was also speculated to have asked for a release. New signing Uros Tripkovic hasn't received any single minute yet while David Andersen continues to disappoint everyone. It is only Bojan Bogdanovic (and maybe little bit Romain Sato) who seems to struggle to make a difference for the team. In short, none of those recent losses were of any surprise. The storm could have arrived much earlier if poor Mapooro Cantu had managed to defeat Fenerbahce about a month ago.

After a decent performance in the group stage, home side Maccabi Electra had a terrible start to TOP 16 group stage. Right after a double digit loss in Siena, Maccabi Electra couldn't finalize their amazing come back and suffered the second loss in a row. They are coached by a familiar face for Turkish Basketball community, David Blatt, who was a former head coach of Anadolu Efes before. He uses his rotation to the greater extent possible which could make a difference against Fenerbahce. Since they had such an unfortunate result in the previous week, David Blatt's team must be very motivated to avoid any mistakes against Fenerbahce Ulker.

The chronic illness of Fenerbahce Ulker is not yet cured. Fenerbahce Ulker is still the worst rebounding team of the league and they just can't get better with a froncourt rotation counting on reckless names David Andersen and Mike Batiste. Since they can't rebound properly, they can't exploit the biggest offensive strength of Bo McCalebb. Maccabi frontcourt players James Shawn and Lior Eliyahu are likely to create a lot of trouble for visitors in t he paint. Point guard Ricky Hickman has stealing as an area of his expertise, so he might put up a play  for the new leader Emir Preldzic! Since Maccabi Electra is a team with quite few assists, their offensive power is highly dependent on shooting performance and fast break points. For both scenarios, good rebounding is essential to the successful execution. Devin Smith is a great outside shooter but he shot 0/6 behind the arc against Laboral last week. He might regain some confidence this thursday. Bojan Bogdanovic is currently the most dangerous player for Maccabi Electra, but David Blatt is experienced enough to take extra measures to stop him as much as possible. At one point, Fenerbahce Ulker is expected to show some reaction, but i don't think such point is likely to be found at Nokia Arena. David Blatt's team better not need another comeback again, at least not that soon!

Pick : Maccabi Electra First Half -4.0 @ 1.90
Stake: 8/10

  1. why do you give picks only about turkish teams?
i think you are absolutely capable of predicting other teams's matches over europe? exactly euroelague.

    1. Thank you for your appreciation. But, I must disagree with you here.

Here, we all try to make money, so it's better to focus on what we know the best in order not to mislead others. Even on those picks, I've been thinking over and over again to find the most accurate ones.

  2. By the way, I received some questions what i think of Laboral-Besiktas game this morning.

As I wrote above, I don't share anything unless I truly believe in.

If there isn't any post regarding a specific match yet, It means I don't favor anything above other possibilities to provide for others. Besides, I've been sharing everything I believe for about 3 months, haven't I ?

I more or less made my mind on what to bet for Laboral game, so I'll share it soon.

Good luck to all of us
