Besiktas Istanbul - Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv

Besiktas Maccabi Electra pick
In the sixth match day, winless Besiktas is preparing to host Israel's Maccabi Electra to achieve their first victory of this stage. Visiting Maccabi Electro which obtained their only victory against the other Turkish team Fenerbahce Ulker will try to move higher in the standings by adding another win.

Today's situation for Besiktas is far from being a surprise. The team started to the season with extremely limited resources and everyone thought TOP 16 was as far as they could go. In fact, Besiktas' current record is somewhat proving itself with 5 straight losses in a row. The only team of Euroleague without the support of any proper sponsor keeps struggling especialy in the offense, being the lowest scoring team of the entire league. Nevertheless,  the amount of effort put into action is just as great. Last week, Besiktas performed an amazing comeback, despite being insufficient and surprised a lot of peopl, including me. An obvious foul suffered by Gasper Vidmar in the final minutes was somehow ignored by the referees and the fast break dunk of Victor Sanikidze in the following possession decided the fate of the game. Besiktas' performance in the second half certainly has some indication of what's about to come for Maccabi Electra match up.

Maccabi Electra, in fact, isn't any different than Besiktas. After a decent 8/2 record in the first stage, Maccabi Electra won only once which I attribute to Fenerbahce's shitty performance of that time rather than Maccabi's absolut dominance. We shouldn't disregard Maccabi's close losses suffered at home, though. Obviously, Maccabi Electra is just another team concluding the games. This is,in a way, going be a game to turn things around for Maccabi Electra as well.

David Blatt is a person who knows the athmosphere in Abdi Ipekci Arena pretty well, so i have no doubt he'll properly get his team ready for challenging Besiktas. Maccabi Electra is very likely to dominate Besiktas in the paint mainly by Lior Eliyahu and James Shawn. Besides that, I think this is a really even match up. Maccabi Electra isn't that impressive on the road while inexperienced Besiktas rotation is much more comfortable playing at home. Point guard Tutku Acik is expected to be back after more than 2 months of absence. He's a pick and roll expert who may make things easier for Besiktas offenses in the paint. Damir Markota was quite out of shape for a long time. Last week, he scored 12 points, shooting 2/3 behind the arc. He might be a key player for this game. The given spread is very reasonable to rely on behalf of Besiktas. Moreover, let me also add that a Besiktas win doesn't surprise me either. I believe this is the moment to realize if they ever do it.

Pick : Besiktas +5.5 @ 1.90
Stake: 8/10

Pick : Besiktas ML @ 2.80
Stake: 4/10
