Besiktas - Brose Baskets

Besiktas Brose Baskets pick
Besiktas and Brose Baskets will challenge each other in an important match up such that a victory could open up the doors to Euroleague Top 16 for either side, especially for hosts. If Besiktas wins this game, it is possible to say that they are %99.9 qualified for the next stage.(Unless they are beaten by Lietuvos Rytas at home by losing the double average clause)

In the match day 2, visiting Besiktas achieved a spectacular victory against Brose Basket by 71-86 on the road. Visitors shot so efficiently behind the arc that Brose Baskets who was known to be tough at home just couldn't manage to catch up with them. Curtis Jerrells scored game high 27 points, leading the way to the victory. Damir Markota and Muratcan Guler, off the bench, also recorded double digits scoring and contributed to Besiktas's second win in a row at that game. Brose Baskets, despite having 4 players scored double figures, just had to surrender against terrific offensive performance of Besiktas that night. Later they won against Lietuvos Rytas at home and Partizan on the road. They are just one win behind Besiktas and will look to level their winning record on friday night.

Home side Besiktas has had some downward performance recently. They were hosted by Banvit BK last sunday and lost the game 79-69. Last week, Besiktas visited Partizan where they couldn't fight enough either and were handed in a double digit loss. One of the biggest reasons of such a heavy loss was their poor performance on the free throw line, especially Gasper Vidmar's. He has shot 3/28 in FT line so far. What a terrible shooting efficiency! He was 1/8 last week. Besides him, the second scoring ace of the team Patrick Christopher can't find his rythm. He has underachieved for a few weeks, too. This week, the team suffered two other injuries. Back up point guard, Tutku Acik, will be out of action for 3 weeks. Power forward Cevher Ozer is also injured and he is unlikely to play on friday night.

Although Besiktas achieved a terrific victory in the first match up, I don't think Brose Baskets will surrender that easy again. Vidmar performs poorly and his back up Randall Falker is also in downside shape. Tutku Acik is injured, so Jerrells will have to stay on the court more. The only positive aspect is that Patrick Christopher scored 25 points last weekend against Banvit. He might take initiative to take scoring burden of Curtis Jerrells who is to be guarded heavily by Brose Basket backcourt players. Gasper Vidmar should also have been warned to increase his efficiency in the paint as well as in the line. Of visiting side, Bostjan Nachbar is in top form and will undoubtedly be the biggest threat for Besiktas. Casey Jacobsen, Sergerio Gibson and Anton Gavel try to contribute as much as possible to help Brose achieve the victory out of this game.

Brose Baskets needs the victory more than Besiktas does. Besiktas will host also Lietuvos Rytas;therefore, they still have one other shot to make. Visiting side better not to fall behind much in order not to surrender easily. Hosts probably don't have problems in scoring as Patrick Christopher is potentially ready to bounce back in this game. Since hosts won the game by 15 points on the road, they don't have to push hard for a decisive victory. That means, the given handicap is quite uncertain.Tightened Besiktas rotation might cause problems especially at the second half. Fighting Brose Baskets is very likely to take the game total towards over.

  1. Christopher bounced back just the way i mentioned. Vidmar, too, played quite positivelly, scoring 2/2 from the FT line :) Jerrells was just as fantastic as he has been so far.
